I am a first-year PhD student in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. My main research interest centres on the ethnic and sexual identity formation of gay Asian men in Spain. And my research lies at the intersection of diaspora, interculturality, psychology, and queer studies.
As a graduate of the MA program in communication at the University of Barcelona, my Master’s thesis aimed to identify how TV ads represent gender, identity and roles within the family using an intercultural approach.
In the past two years, I also worked and volunteered with several LGBTQ NGOs in China and The United States, such as Beijing LGBT Center and China Rainbow Network (CRN), helping improve the mental health and the wellbeing of LGBTQ communities.
